Terms of Membership

Introduction

Our members have formed a community of keen theatregoers that receive opportunities to see fantastic performances by following some simple rules. These rules are detailed below, though it mostly comes down to some everyday courtesy: be polite, discreet, and punctual.

As a seat filler, you will have access to complimentary tickets by paying a small admin fee, though some events are entirely free. All we ask of you in return is that you follow this A-B-C

  • Arrive early to take your seat - usually, 30 minutes before the performance starts. An early arrival keeps the box office area clear for full paying audience members.
  • Be discreet and don't mention Stage Audience, Seat Filling or the fee you paid for your ticket when at a performance unless you are required to give details to the Box Office team, and even then, try to ensure you are not overheard.
  • Collect your tickets and accept the seats you are allocated. Do not ask to be moved.

Remember, arriving just in time for a performance is to arrive late. So always allow plenty of time for your journey.

Failing to follow any of these simple rules would affect your membership status.

Our Terms

These Terms of Membership, in conjunction with our Terms of Use set out the terms and conditions on which you are permitted to use our website and agree to make bookings.

We may update these Terms of Membership from time to time in order to maintain the service we provide to our members. Therefore, you should check these Terms of Membership each time you make a booking or take action concerning your membership of Stage Audience.

The effective date of these Terms of Membership is .

  1. As a member of Stage Audience, discretion is paramount. Members and their guests agree not to talk about Stage Audience or their membership and its benefits when attending a performance. Conversations can often be overheard, particularly when inside a venue.
  2. Members agree to be respectful and polite to Stage Audience representatives and theatre staff alike. They should follow any instructions given and accept full responsibility for the behaviour of their guests. Any member disregarding this rule will have their membership terminated, and any fees paid will not be refunded.
  3. Details of ticket collection, including time and a collection point or e-ticket delivery details and the timing of the performance itself and venue location, are contained in the booking confirmation email. After a booking is completed, the confirmation email is sent automatically to the member's registered email address. The booking details are also available within the member's account under the My bookings section. The guidance given in the booking details must be adhered to, and members should never contact the theatre directly with any queries unless specifically instructed to do so by Stage Audience.
  4. When asked by venue staff, a member must be prepared to show their booking confirmation details as discretely as possible to receive tickets or gain access to a performance. Confirmation details can be displayed on a smartphone, or printed off as a hard copy, though be mindful not to leave any printed information behind. Always follow the guidance in the booking confirmation email, as each booking may have different ticket collection instructions.
  5. Members should never reveal or share their booking confirmation details or any Stage Audience correspondence, including email campaigns for performance availability, with guests or non-members, other than as detailed in point 4 above.
  6. Any ticket collections must be made during the times stated in the booking confirmation details. Failure to collect tickets within the times displayed would result in the booking being marked as a no-show and impact the member's rating and account status.
  7. All tickets are subject to availability, and members cannot choose seats or request alternative seating when at a performance. Tickets are often assigned upon collection, so collecting tickets as early as possible will often lead to better seats.
  8. Seating for Members with a registered disability can often be arranged, provided you contact us when making a booking. We will liaise with the venue access team on your behalf to organise suitable seating wherever possible. While we will do our best to accommodate such requests, some seat-filling allocations are limited, and no appropriate seating may be available. The booking can be cancelled in such cases, and admin fees fully refunded.
  9. Only Stage Audience members named on a guest list can collect tickets and may need to show identification. Guests of members are not permitted to make a collection on behalf of a member.
  10. In rare circumstances, a venue may not be able to provide a performance or honour tickets. In these situations, Stage Audience will refund any admin fees paid and notify any members affected, either by email or other means, as soon as possible. Stage Audience accepts no additional compensation for loss.
  11. Cancellations - The role of Stage Audience is to fill seats for specific shows on designated dates. If you book tickets and then decide to cancel, you must advise Stage Audience as soon as possible and allow the unwanted tickets to be filled. We require a minimum of 4 hours' notice ahead of the performance start time. Notifications at shorter notice may result in a no-show and impact the member's rating and account status.
  12. All admin fees paid for seat-filling tickets are non-refundable, except as outlined in this document.
  13. Switching tickets is not permitted. When a booking is made, the member agrees to attend a specific performance. Cancelling a booking to attend a different performance makes the member appear unreliable and such action will impact the member's rating and account status.
  14. During a performance, members must follow the guidance given by the venue, which usually includes a request to switch off or silence mobile phones.
  15. Members agree not to mention their Stage Audience membership, the admin fees they pay, specific venues, or any performances that are available from the Stage Audience website on:

    1. Social Media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, TikTok, Twitter, etc);
    2. The Internet (Blogs, Forums, etc);
    3. any publicly available platforms, be that digital or print; or
    4. by forwarding any content we send them on to non-members.

Failure to abide by these conditions will result in the immediate termination of a member's account.

  16. Stage Audience uses members' details to manage their memberships and, as required, to confirm booking details and arrange e-tickets with a venue. Stage Audience will not pass on information to third parties unless otherwise stated and cannot be held responsible for the use of their data by the venue or its staff.
  17. Under no circumstances are members permitted to resell tickets booked through Stage Audience or provide tickets to non-members, allowing them to attend a performance without the member being present. Any such actions would lead to the immediate termination of a member's account.
  18. Members are not permitted to book more than 6 tickets for any single performance without prior consent. You can ask for permission by contacting [email protected]. Bookings for a single performance that total more than 6 tickets may be cancelled.
  19. Members are not allowed to permit the use of their membership by other people. This includes allowing others to log in, view performances, or book shows. If a member knows someone interested in Stage Audience, they can recommend them for membership.
  20. Where possible, payments should be made online using a Credit Card, Debit Card, PayPal account or pre-paid credit.
  21. Payments by Bank Transfer will remain due even if the member has cancelled their booking.
  22. Should a member sustain an injury whilst attending a venue, it should be reported to the venue's management. Stage Audience does not accept any liability.
  23. Members must maintain their membership to view performances and make bookings.
  24. Members who choose not to renew membership may have their accounts closed and would need to re-apply to join.
  25. Members must maintain the accuracy of the contact information contained within their accounts to allow Stage Audience to contact them without delay in the event of time-sensitive updates.
  26. All members' details and use of the website are in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  27. Our website uses cookies, and more information can be found in our Cookie Policy.
  28. Stage Audience reserves the right to suspend membership permanently, and their decision is final.
  29. Weather - In the event of a performance being cancelled due to weather conditions before the performance starts, a full refund will be provided. If the performance is cancelled at any point after it has begun, no refunds will be available.
  30. Membership fees are generally non-refundable, though a refund may be considered if the member:

    • has created their account within the last 14 days; and
    • has not made any bookings through us; and
    • has not received any benefits from their membership (such as discounted tickets available direct from a venue).
